well they were kinda forced too due to budget losses with final fantasy the spirits within

You know, the funny thing is that apparently birds can't really taste the chemical that makes peppers spicy. There's a hypothesis floating around that the peppers actually deliberately evolved that way so they'd be eaten by birds rather than mammals so their seeds would be spread further.
Totally not relevant to a fantasy universe, but interesting nonetheless.
