Description
"The Boss And I In A Field Outside X-Town"During my first term as an X-Man we spent most of it in a ghost town somewhere in the Australian Outback. Originally it was the hideout for a group of cyborgs called the Reavers. We evicted 'em and claimed the town as our own. (Mainly because we were hiding out ourselves.) Here, Storm, (who was the leader at the time), and I look over our newly acquired "X-Town." A real dump for sure. But a fixer upper with possibilities.

Now this one is really something special
At least to my eyes
I will have to go back and re read about this time in the X - Men's lives , but the text does a great job putting us in the " time and place "
The setting looks good
Nicely idyllic
The uniforms and body types depicted characters look to be " spot on "
I note their stances reflect each other ( both stand stand straight with one hand on hip) though Ali stands with both feet firmly on the ground while storm as one heel raised as if she is about to take flight
But for me the high point of the the image are the facial expressions and the emotions they portray
Ali looks a bit nonplussed
You can almost hear the slight exhalation of exasperation through pursed lips as she surveys the team's new home
Her slight frown ( down turned lips ) indicates ( to this viewer )that she is thinking about all the hard work it will take to put the place into a decent livable state and the primitive conditions in which they will have to live while the work is being done
The place has possibilities - but it will take a lot arduous toil to realize them
Storm on the other hand , sees something different
She does not see a "dump"
Rather she see a safe haven for her friends and colleagues
A place of their own where they all can be free and secure
This is reflected in her small beatific smile and is emphasized by her all white eyes
At least this is what I see
In any case this is a truly great picture

I'm glad you like it. When Dan showed me his Punk Storm I knew I had to do some "scrapbook photos" of her and Ali since this was the period of Dazzler's first term as an X-Man. It should be noted though that Storm's powers weren't working at that time. Even without them she still managed to defeat Cyclops in a challenge for leadership and won. I have at least two more pictures planned, one already in the works.

I really like the "scrap book " idea
I do recall how Storm beat Cyclops for the leadership of the X Men , even though she was de powered
Very much looking for ward to the upcoming images
I seem to have been totally off the mark in my observations
