From what I recall the visor contains the beam he can't turn off. (And it does give him better control.) But there were times when, just wearing the glasses, Cyke could still fire the optic blast with good control. The thing is that Cyke needs the visor and glasses to block the beam. Otherwise he'd have to keep his eyes shut all the time. Of course I haven't read the X-Men in decades so I really don't know if that's changed or not.


As for Dazzler, the Swiss army knife of light, her power depends on the sound available to her. Give her enough sound and, with obvious exceptions, (like telepaths), she could pretty much mop the floor with anybody. At least that's my take on her. Dazz can be as powerful or as weak as the noise surrounding her or stored within her. That's always been my take on her.

Well I think your reasoning here is pretty spot on I too am not a massive follower of the X-man so I can't say yes or no to the details you give here, but you still have another good creation here
