Description
The primary rotary-winged asset of the South Korean forces during the Second Korean War, the HH-19B was soon joined by the UH-19D in the transport role. Over a hundred of these helicopters were donated by the US Government in 1964 during the build-up for the counteroffensive, being taken from US Army surplus after the arrival of the turbine-powered Bell UH-1 replaced them in American service.* * *
