I like how you blurred out the background and focused on them. It's giving the viewer a sense that they block out the rest of the world when they're together.

Play around with some fun post processing on this one.. I am not going to give you any other direction but maybe play with some diffuse glow and vingettes.. Best of luck!

thanks for the advice. if i have some spare time and think the image is worth the time, maybe i'll play around with it a bit, but i typically don't mess with digital lighting at all. its not my style. i like everything to be legitimate, the way i shot it. maybe next time i'll bring some different lights in..

i have two issues with this.
the first is going to seem absolutely ridiculous and tiny, but its bothering me.
there's one strand of hair, where her teeth end, its tiny, i know, but its bugging me because it just looks odd.
[geeze, talk about attention to detail, i bet you didnt even notice that]
and two, the light.
oh boy.
you shoot natural light
i knoooooow i know, but its boring
and plain
and.. well, for all their laughing and smiling it just doesnt do it justice.
plus i dont like how he's got his hand in a fist instead of flat around her. it looks awkward and as if he's avoiding something.
[make that three issues]

but someones gotta say something other than "this is good!"
especially since you CAN do better.

picky picky picky.. you're right, i didn't notice the strand. the fist.. you're right about that too. but thats spontaneity, chica, and you don't pose that. spontaneous portraits are captured as they happen. you want to critique on hand placement, do it on a shot that was categorized in emotive or fashion or SOME generally "photographer-driven" shot, rather than one driven by the models. thats my two cents. so, regardless of whether or not you're right about hand placement (which you are), its spontaneous.. and you can't pose that. and as far as lighting is concerned, how would you have lit it?

i comment on what i like and dislike about the photo.
you can pick and choose from the rest.
as for lighting, a happy cheery bright photo such as this deserves happy sheery bright lighting.
not that you can pick and choose from that when you shoot natural, but a bright sunlit day would have suited this more.
