That IS nice, and one reason I need to UV mine. As far as I know, I'll need textures to get the dirt and grime of a real workhorse starship.

Excellent rendering of the Saladin Class starship. I know according to offical canon that starfleet vessels are suppose to have dual nacelles but I really like this design.

The Saladin Class IS official nowadays, Gene Roddenberry made some VERY idiotic mistakes in his later life. 1) the Star Trek Starfleet Technical Manual (where the Saladin came from), WAS Canon when it was released, and sanctioned by the studio and Gene himself.
He de-canonised it because he had an argument with Franz Joseph over starship designs = petty. 2) The Animated Series WAS Canon when released, it was sanctioned by the studio, Gene produced it and most of the original cast were involved, then all of a sudden Gene decided it wasn't, only live action was and the series got swept under the carpet like it didn't exist!!
Today, the studio has righted most of these, incleding canonising the pocket book series Star Trek: Titan 's
