The infamous USS Reliant NCC-1864, one of the most fearsome starships in Star Trek lore. Her very name has come to be the meaning of revenge thanks to the late 20th century Augment tyrant Khan. But her class name is Miranda, maybe after one of her creators daughter. What ever the reason for her class name, the Miranda Class vessels have served Starfleet well into the late 24th century.
However, the new alternate reality (which I call the Quantum Reality) this starship class would rise three years after the destruction of Vulcan. Starfleet believed that after Nero destroyed Vulcan the Romulans of the present would try to take advantage of the chaos and invade federation space.
So the USS Miranda NX-1833 was created to combat this threat. The first of her design, her voyages would test the new designs in combat and science for the federation. She would be under the command of Captain Ryan Robertson who just became captain.
The voyages of the USS Miranda and her crew are about to begin when the Tholians threaten to destroy federation colonies.

*drool* - That's so cool, and seeing as the eugenics wars happened before Kirk was even born it's conceivable that Khan's still in exile somewhere.

*Shifts into roleplaying/storytelling mode*
I stared at the screen, my jaw slack, my eyes wide with shock, my verbal reaction tumbling from my lips...
"My God, Reliant... What have they done to you?"
For the most part, the normally beautiful Miranda class starship looked much as she always had, the primary hull and rollbar seemingly untouched, but her usually sleek, angular and utilitarian nacelles had been replaced by the hideous forms that passed for warp nacelles within JJ Abrams' twisted parody of the Star Trek universe and, between their bloated and overdesigned nature, the latter of which was emphasised perfectly in this picture by the eerie blade arrangements in the caps of the nacelles with their strange lines and needlessly hollow centres, entirely summed up, I thought, everything that was wrong with the new Star Trek movie in a single object...
I also noted, but was slightly less worried about, the two rounded structures that had been added either side of the blue dome on the centre rear of the ship, which in this picture was almost entirely obscured by the Reliant's bridge... These, I thought, seemed out of place at best, appearing to give the Reliant two navigational deflector dishes, something only a select few fan produced designs could boast and something precious few of even those ships could claim actually looked good on them... In this case as in most, it didn't look good and only served to ruin the Reliant's usually clean lines along its rear hull and to blur the distinction between ship and rollbar that gave the Reliant its unique appearance among all the ships of Star Trek...
Overall, I could only conclude that these designs changes, an ill-fated attempt to give the downright disgusting Abrams-verse Constitution class an equally repulsive stablemate, had only served to ruin a classic in Star Trek ship design, much as German Trek fan Bernd Schneider had complained that the design changes made to the Enterprise-D for the "future" version of itself in the last TNG episode, All Good Things, had ruined the design of the Galaxy class...
With that, I managed to tear my gaze away from the sight before me and scrolled down the page to make a comment... It would surely be scathing, venomous spiteful... But then, at that moment, inspiration struck and I found myself typing the words "Shifts into roleplaying/storytelling mode" into the comment box...

Wow.
Even though I don't like the so calles 'new' Style in general, this looks kinda cool. ^.^
But something about the right basis of the bridgework-like thing made me look curious - something seems to be NOT right there. @.@°
The Shadows, maybe...?
It's just a feeling... it looks... artificial, and even though I know it is, your Pics never did. ^.^

Woah! Awesome! I saw some weird looing three nacelled Miranda in the movie. But she had the same nacelles as the Kelvin. This could be like a refit of that one, maybe. Very shiny.

Awesome, I really like it, though I think the nacelles are a little too large, other than that it is spot on well done.

They are, it looks okay but the fronts were a little too bulky....I had meant just on the reliant though, the naccelles seem to large for me, even in the JJ style, it has to do with the proportion in comparison to the rest of the ship
still good though

Oh WOW, that's frakking sweet, man. I like how the shoulder lumps (as I call them) on the saucer have been turned into deflector dishes. The only thing the Miranda-class was lacking.
Excellent work indeed
