Description This for me was the best thing I saw all year, to see the Lancaster this close was really special, it has a majestic beauty all of its own, I shall never forget this moment. The size of the aircraft at 160 feet off the ground was incredible but to put this into perspective the Dambusters raid crews flew at 60 feet off the ground! Taken at Old Warden.

The Soviet's PE-8's are also pretty cool.

The Lancaters are so cool, they look real similar to the B-24 Liberators. I read that there only 1 Lancaster left in existence that is still in flying condition today.

There's actually 2 airworthy Lancs in the world.

This one that is part of the RAFs Battle of Britain Memorial Fight and one in Canada.

You learn something new everyday

There's another one in Britain that can taxi and makes runway runs, but isn't airworthy. They plan to make her so at some point

Simply wow!!! What an amazing capture of the old Lanc. I have always thought that this is the best angle to capture pretty much any aircraft from. To see it with the Lancaster is fantastic.

Cracking capture mate. But I'd clone out the bird, quite distracting.

Yes, I believe the Battle of Britain flight have very strict rules about aircraft in the air during their display/flypast, they have to either be grounded or a certain distance/height clear of their aircraft.
