i love how this started with like.. actual number forms and stuff and then it kinda turned into stuff like this, which is more abstract. cool idea.

maybe it was the other way around
it seems to fluctuate between the two
numbers become abstracts
abstracts become numbers

If my life had to be represented by colors I wouldn't mind them to be these ones.

Nice work, I agree with ~ill23 in that the dark area is distracting, but not that much, for me the 7 is still pretty evident.

thanks ....it is only distracting in the context of seven
and seven is just an abstract title for an abstract image
it would be so easy to take the offending little square away
but... it attracts comment, because of its tension against the title

however, if you ignore the title
then the dark area is crucial in the way that it introduces a 3rd dimensional twist to the desired 2D plane

we can not solve the tensions in the world with art
therefore we must stir them up,,,
we live in a twisted world with many grey and dark areas

it is better to notice them, be aware of them
than to pretend they aren't there... especially when they become increasingly obvious

Yeah, that dark area is hard to ignore, at some point it becomes the focal point. And indeed adds distance and keeps the picture from becoming too flat.

For me art can have many functions, it can't be limited to show the world as it is, it can and it does, but it also can take you away from it, or give it a twist, and that's the real purpose of art, to aloud you to go to any direction you want.

true
usually for me it is an unconscious process
in this case, the dark area is just a part of this frame
often something obscures or interferes with the ideal
but then in truth, things are what they are
not what we would like them to be

i am not interested in perfecting my images
although sometimes i will reuse them in a different context

i think that art for me is all about looking at things in different ways
not really having any fixed opinions at all

I agree with you, art is a window to see things from different perspectives, without fixed opinions.

this black square is a bit distracting, if the photo shows a '7'.
if it should show an 'a' or an 'e' then it wouldn't distracting anymore... but it's your interpretation.

generally i like the colors!
