Thank you for the comments and the , I truly appreciate them both.

I think there were 7 or 8 buds and blooms on the rose bush and between caterpillars eating the petals of the buds and the heavy rains and wind one night, this is the only one that survived.

Here is a shot of the caterpillars making a meal of one of the roses... [link]

This si the most beautiful yellow. Yellow roses are stunning. I don't have a yellow rose as yet but it's next on my list. Very well captured, it's stunning!

Thank you for the comments and the fave.

This is my next door neighbor's climbing rose, it is making a comeback after having been pruned into virtually oblivion.

It's my pleasure Mage.

Roses tend to do that. I always prune mine right back and they come back better and better every year, plus they love Miracle Grow!

I prune mine back to about 18-24 inches every other year. This one which was over 8 feet and quite full, was hacked to the base and only the main stem left, stripped of all shoots and 5 feet tall. In addition to that the base was covered with 2 inches of soil and another 3 of mulch. It was like that for two years without a sign of life. Its a wonder the roots didn't rot away.

You're welcome.

There's one that grows in the garden of my old home: It's red and yellow. It has the most beautiful smell.
