This series is a result of various exercises in photography done at different points in time and locations.
During the production phase, emphasis was put on capturing the inanimate subjects in an isolated state under flattering or contrasting lighting conditions.
In post-production, the impressionist character of the snapshots was pronounced by applying a blur gradient on the edges, making some of the objects appear as miniatures. This was the finishing touch for the bright version of the series.
The dark version, however, contains an additional black layer creating a deliberate distance between the viewer and the actual motif in order to point to the associated keywords. Said keywords, literal, satirical or symbolic, reflect the artist’s first thought that came to his mind during production.
You are offered two ways to look at the compositions:
Either by looking simply at the main motif through the semi-transparent screen,
Or by reading the keyword and putting it into context with the motif behind the screen.
