Description
Taken on the the trail to jomon-sugi on Yakushima, an island below Kyūshū, Japan. Some of the area's landscapes were the inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki's 'Princess Mononoke', and with good reason: it's a beautiful place.The train track is no longer in use, so it's a long 8-9 hour hike to the top.

Yakushima is a treasure house of nature.
There was the world natural heritage, too, and the whole Yakushima was established some other time in the Yakushima national park in 2013.

Actually, I can't remember the name of the place I stayed, but it was right near the port. Right next to a silo. That's all I've got for you.

beautiful I love the really dark shadyness in this it really makes it pop it's a very unique rail road track it almost looks smaller then the average tracks kind of like a roller coaster track. Anyway this is very beautiful thanks for sharing!!

It would have been a smaller train route when it was in use (for deforestation, I believe, although thankfully that has stopped). Now, it just a long long long path up to the top.

Yeah, I wish I had a dynamic scope with me that day. It's an 8-9 hour hike, so be careful what you take with you. Still, I could have taken a panorama; I can't remember whether what was to the sides was 'dynamic' or not though.
