Description
Bodie Ghost Town in California is a surreal place full of history, fantastic old structures and a lot of sand. We timed our arrival perfectly for a huge dust/sand storm blowing over the high plateau. Dramatic lenticular clouds formed over the historic mining city providing a perfect setting for the place. This old rusty car was begging for a black and white treatment, which I am usually not the biggest fan of but here, I believe, it supports the dramatic mood.

This image was shot using a Singh-Ray Vari-n-Trio at approximately 5 stops to help soften the grass to create a ghostly atmosphere and emphasize the strength of the wind.
