Description Here is a fairly recent piece I did for my upcoming book... it is in the section about showing character from the rear,,,,
If a pose is strong it should tell a story from the rear w/o the need for expression. In fact, facial expression s/b secondary to body pose and gesture.
Hope ya'll likes..

This reminds me a bit of Atreyu with Artax from The Neverending Story. x3

Very nice.

I believe it was Falcor. But, damn, that dragon was by far the coolest freaking giant flying puppet thing ever. x3

I really love the movement and atmosphere in this picture. It's amazing to see how the bodylanguage tells clearly what the character is feeling and thinking. There's no need for facial expressions here.

Wonderful work. Simply wonderful!

This is a very interesting piece! You did a very good job at showing the feeling of the character without showing the face. I love the black and white too! Very very nice job. ^_^

Very nice. It has echoes of Mignola's work. I don't know if it was intentional, but I love it!

I really like your statement about portraits from behind. I love taking photographs, as well as drawing figures, from the back - not being able to see the face opens up a lot of imagination potential for the viewer, and as you said, the pose of the body can imply so much on it's own. Very nice.

Anywho, after dinner I usually work some more in my home studio..

marriage is alot of fun but it certainly takes alot of work the first few years.. im going on my third year with james come december.. its crazy..

aw well im glad that your realtionship is good then <3 that rocks...

nah it wasnt really Sarah's or anyone's fault.. hannibal was well.. he didnt listen to well when it came to darting out the door, its even happend to me once, this stupid fucker kept swinging the door open right in front of my dog and hannibal ran out i was semi lucky that there was another dog that he wanted to dominate or it would have been quite a hassle getting him back inside.. so i dont blame anyone.. and they were crushed they owned him for 4 years and loved him tons. he was just excited to see their kids home so there was no stopping him.

raphael is a mini pin as well.. he is 6 months old right now... he is so cute. [link]

there is a picture of him <3
