Well, I have been posting a lot of my warm up sketches lately of barbarians and warrior types.. So I decided to maintain that same content but address it in a different style. I wanted to try a more cartoony refined style and really try to keep the energy of my loose sketches in a final,cleaned,inked, and colored design. You've really captured Cheeks' feeling here... both in lines and colors. Also, your foreshortening work is already amazing; it added even more to this one. Great work!

Yeah, Cheeks is just a magician... I love every little line he drops in a paper! He's definitely an inspiration for me too!

I am glad you noticed the strength of the shadow to help push depth and space....had some other elements to add the energy and compositional elements to lead the viewer around the design and keep them in the picture plane.
