Description The apple and the snake - ageless theme

In fact it is not a snake but a blindworm crossing a road that I found while riding my bike...

Yeah, that apple and snake duet associates me an episode from Bible. Also I like the colour-scheme. The gray ground, silver snake and distant yellow apple makes the picture mysterious.

Thanks a lot for the comment and thank you for the fav as well..
The snake looked pretty good itself but I thought an apple would make it look even better so I used little photomanipulation.

Awesome image . . . I really like that the snake is so small . . . it makes for an interesting interpretation of the story.

It looks like what we call a legless lizard and it is beautiful! Great shot and combination of images

Thanks. I didn't find any good translation in dictionaries for that but i am sure it is exactly the same animal that you call legless lizard. They used to taught me it was a lizard with no legs, not a snake.

Aha! Exactly - a legless lizard, they are beautiful as is the one you photographed. It looks just like the ones we have I love how you did it with the apple

0.o Are you sure that is a worm? Looks a LOT like a snake to me...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Davidsv In reply to pirate-soul [2006-10-21 11:18:27 +0000 UTC]

I am sure. In fact it is not a worm although it is called worm. It is biologically closer to a lizard than to a snake. It is pretty common animal here and since we have only two kinds of snakes here in nature I was sure it was not any of them.

i can only imagine you must kill it to take time to get such nice composition, didn't you?

another interpretation might be following -- as being not actually a snake, there is a hidden danger within all of us...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Davidsv In reply to erk0 [2006-08-20 10:50:43 +0000 UTC]

I like that interpretation..
The snake was pretty calm, it wasnt scared at all. The position of the apple is all fake. I took a picture of that apple on a gray carpet at home trying to keep the same angle and light as if the apple really was on the road. PS did most of the work afterwards..
