Since I can't really post my new work stuff yet, I thought I'd rummage through some of my older work to show. This is page 5 from the second issue of Stan Winston's Realm of the Claw. As this was based on the toyline Stan's studio was doing, they sent me out a big box of all the toys for reference, before I started working on the book... and man were those toys packed with detail! I needed to do fairly tight layouts for approval before starting on the pages, and of course I had to get the likenesses right too. I was never asked to redraw anything though, so I guess did okay.

Layouts were done at quarter page size in pencil and marker, then blown up on a photocopier, roughly traced in pencil, then inked, and added washes with warm and cool grey watercolour pencils, and ink wash.
