Don't forget it had a huge human face on top of him somewhere.

Very true. Another drawing I'm working on with a different view shows that aspect. This drawing doesn't show the head because the tentacles get in the way. (Imagine an egg-shaped body cleft down the center with a deep, V-shaped trench. Now dot the outside top perimeter with a dense thicket of tentacles and you'll see what I'm aiming for.) Thanks again for your feedback!

For some reason, I always imagined his head being a giant face looking up at the sky surrounded by tentacles w/ the trunk legs under the body.Β

I know what you mean - same here. This is probably because most interpretations depict him that way. I wanted to take The Horror in a different direction and see how it works out. You be the judge if I'm successful or not!

I'm pretty sure that when he walks it sounds like "pop pop plopo plop pop ploop"

No doubt, or some equally indescribable noise (this is, after all, HPL we're talkin' about)!

Very interesting design! I was gonna mention the whole 'half face' thing, but you mentioned already its just obscured. I always loved how Lovecraft wrote just enough details to be descriptive, but let one's own mind piece together his monstrosities themselves.

Yes! HPL was a true master of atmospheric effects and suggestion. After all these years he's still a source of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by to share your feedback. Take care.

Great work. I love how the tentacle eyes catch the light like stars.

Yes, but in my design some the most "interesting" parts are found in a cleft in the center of the body - obscured by all the tentacle action in this side view.
