Description Marine's Dream one of five Chance-Vought F4U Corsairs (out of 25 flying in the world) at the Wings and Wheels show at Bridgeport... as it happens May 29, 2010 was the 60th anniversary , to the day.. that the first F4U took off from this very airport to enter service.. they were built right across the street from the field..

I have to say it: I've always hated this paint job.

The original Marine's Dream was an F4U-1 birdcage model, not a bubble-top (this machine is a 1D based on the frameless canopy). She was also painted in the early-war blue-gray over light gray scheme, and not tricolor. The fuselage number was "576", not 19, and even the colors of the nose art are completely wrong. The pinup is also wearing the wrong outfit; the original art was a bikini/bra top and a miniskirt, both in white.

Here she is wrecked on Bougainville:

Many planes would not be complete without their individual art
