Saw a comment you left someone, somewhere - you're going to the Jersey shore. Where do you go? I grew up in Jersey and have been to Wildwood, LBI (mostly), Point Plasent, Sandy Hook, Asbury Park, Alantic City (before the casinos), Seaside Heights -

Well We spend a week in Ocean City.. when I was in high school we spent alot of time on LBI and in Beach Haven and Seaside (cutting school!) lol...My wife is from south jersey..and the moms are still down there..mine in Maple Shade and hers about a half a mile away in Cherry Hill..We moved to Florence in 1963 when we left Alaska and dad was stationed at McGuire..then he retired from the Air Force and took a job with Princeton University press in Lawrencville....I moved up here after college in 73..all of mom and dad's family are here in Connecticut..We sure love Ocean City.. been going there for 25 years Plus..

Beautiful! It's funny, other people see it as ominous, but I just see it as venerable, and deserving respect for it's survival... Maybe with my background in historical archaeology I've just seen more black and white pictures of beautiful old buildings and the black and white doesn't mean anything scary to me.

I think because they often use distinctive old buldings and such in mystery and horror films...it's kind of fun....I like the black and white because I think it adds a certain elegance to a unique old window..

exactly... HK just sent me a good quote he had read.. it said "If you photograph in color you see the color of their clothes..if you photograph in black and white..you see the color of their soul"... Pretty accurate eh?

Yes, except as we were both saying, when black or white is emphasized for a special effect...for instance your picture with the boat looks more cheerful because of the strong whites, and the same picture with strong dark tones might look spooky. I always think I look terrible in photos...maybe I will see if I look better in black and white (with lots of white in the picture to emphasize my sunny personality of course

you're welcome! we went to lighthouse park in west vancouver yesterday, great hiking (alot of it just over rocks) and a great day, full of shots on a beautiful day, and yes, there was a light house!

i'm funny that way, i like to absorb the day or something, i dont know...plus i was just watchng gretzky's first game as an LA king back in 1988, against my Wings, 8-2 final for LA, but really great atmosphere! (nhl channel).
i'm hearing terrible rumours the leafs still have a chance for playoffs.
