Yea it's such a great place. Its only an hour up the coast so we try to go there for a long weekend two or three times a year.. the little town of Mystic is a lovely place to hang around. Thanks

It really is. I don't know if you ever saw the movie "Master and Commander..FAr Side of the World", but the ship used in that was really a replica of HMS Rose, which was a British warship that shelled Stonington Harbor here in Connecticut during the revolutionary war. The replica used to be berthed right here at Bridgeport and I've been aboard many times.They sold her to someon in Newport Rhode Island and then they made the movie and I really don't know where she is now. but she used to sail all over on tours.

Well this one is the last wooden whaling ship still in existence .(at least thats what they tell you up at Mystic)

When you step on board one of those ships you can sense the difficult life those sailors must have led, but I still can't help thinking about sailing the world. Especially the South Pacific.

Yea me too.. but when I go aboard those things I'm always struck by now little space they had to move around.. and the ceilings are all too low for me.. I'm 6'3
