Ext – Street – Night

A girl walks drunkenly down a deserted street on the outskirts of town, staggering around and looking lost. Rain is pouring down on her, soaking her. She looks around and sees a lone house before the road leads into woods and countryside. She walks up to the house and knocks on the door. The girl keeps knocking loudly on the door.

The Girl
Let me in, LET ME IN!

The hallway lights turn on and an older woman warily opens the door halfway.

Old Woman
[Thinly disguised anger] What do you want?

The Girl
Let me in.

Old Woman
No! It's 3.30 in the morning. Who are you and what do you want?

The Girl
[sways and leans on the door frame]
Let me in please. I need to use your phone.

Old Woman
Don't you have a cell? Use That!

The Girl
I had a phone but I lost it. Please, I'm lost out here and I don't know how to get home.

The girl hiccups and makes a soft cat like noise. The old woman's demeanor changes and smiles warmly at the girl. The old woman opens the door all the way and looks the girl up and down.

Old Woman
Okay, come on in out the rain, hurry.

The Girl
Thank you

The girl walks in and gives the old woman a wet drunken hug. The old woman is annoyed but says nothing.
The girl steps back and looks at the old woman. She is dressed in a lace nighty.

The Girl
Am I interrupting something.

Old Woman
No, no. Nothing at all. Now go sit down, [gestures to the couch in the next room] Go and sit down I'll get you some water and then you can call.
