Description
Charles Stanton Ogle in his uncredited role as Frankenstein's monster, Edison Studios, 1910. Long thought lost, the movie was finally restored in 2017. This was the first cinematic adaption of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus. Ladies and Gentlemen, for your Halloween enjoyment, Edison Studio presents...Frankenstein!

To say the least this is a bad movie, shot in 3 days with Edison's usual parsimony. Apparently changing camera angles, tracking shots, cut-away shots, and close-ups, never mind editing, were just not thought of, a failing that led to George Méliès, inventor of special effects and fantastic films, being forgotten by the public. Eventually the film industry moved to sunny California to get away from Edison's process servers and the rest, mes enfants, is history.
