Yeah. Changing the size of the eye, narrowing it, even a change in color patterns can make it seem different, though the whole face together needs to synergize in order for the eyes to work.
Though sometimes, dragons look cute for simply the eyes in some cases.

They truly are. There are many different eye styles to try out even though there's only two eye shapes: round and slit.

Actually, there are many more shapes for eyes. There are also Almond,Β Monolid, Hooded, etc. It's amazing how many different types of eyes there are when we see them every day but don't realize it. And there are so man ways of drawing them. It's really interestingΒ

In my stories, dragons only have two eye shapes, yet the external layer outside the pupils can be white yellow or light blue (I don't know the name of the external layer.)
It's unbelievable how our creativity can extend and bend reality into a completely different fictional universe

It's called the sclera. Which is actually kinda accurate to people and animals since it's never completely white and is always a bit yellow, blue or pink in shade.
It is amazing! Especially when something big comes out of it like an amazing movie, book or show. Truely amazing.
