the colour are special ink pens called Kure~colour. They are double ended with one thick end and one thin, and soak into the paper easily.
They can spill sometimes but with care and caution, you should be alright and you can buy them off amazon and ebay sites.
However, lucky for me I brought them separately from an art shop for Β£4.30, when I was studying at university.
Unfortunately, they don't sell them separate on amazon and ebay, and can cost up to Β£50 - Β£150 pounds as a colour set with the refillable inks included. Not sure if America sells them but I know Japan does.
Basically if you really want them, try and search stores around city areas with professional art shops to get separate or save up till Christmas ^^U

actually, I think the best pens to buy which are cheaper and still just as effective are 'Sharpie~fine point~Permanent Marker~ASTM D-4336' probably Β£15-Β£20 perhaps ^^
