This is amazing!! ^^ How did you create your pattern?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DawnMLC In reply to PhantomPawPrints [2015-11-22 03:14:48 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I use a program called Pattern Maker then edit the colours to clean the pattern up.

Interesting... I may have to check that out. Β Did you have to pay for it or was it free?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DawnMLC In reply to PhantomPawPrints [2015-11-23 22:30:58 +0000 UTC]

It is a more expensive program... cheaper options out there---dont think there are free ones out there now. I like Pattern Maker the most!!

Well, there goes my idea *sigh* OK. Well, thanks anyway. Β I might just have to save a few dollars.

Just google cross stitch pattern makers and see what the prices are.
Might be able to find a cheaper company that makes patterns...just make sure the program allows you to import images.

I think there is some free phone apps that can make patterns. but im unsure about those.

DawnMLC In reply to CDHM [2013-07-23 14:13:53 +0000 UTC]

It only took me 3- 3 1/2 months I think to stitch this. Only part that slowed me down were her hands.

This is gorgeous! Maybe one day I'll be able to do something like this... (Really, I'd just be afraid that I would skip a stitch or mess up.)

By the way, I'm stitching one of your patterns. I'll post it when I'm done

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DawnMLC In reply to MrMoocher [2012-11-16 02:04:08 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!! The thing with big patterns like this is you rarely can make a huge mistake. Well...sort of. When I was working on my baby dragon I went ahead working on other pages trying to do all a dark brown area...I thought I missed 2 rows. I was going to throw about a months work away....instead I work on the pages around it-- I didn't make a mistake-- just forgot to mark what I stitched with my highlighter. I stitch bigger patterns so much faster then a small pattern. I guess it is because you must recount constantly with a small pattern. The trick is only worrying about 1 page at a time and treating it like a small project....never think about how many pages you have left!! I'm totally talking too much!

Which pattern are you stitching?? It will be cool to see!! I'm totally frustrated with my site-- goes up and down a lot lately! Yesterday it was fine-- tonite it is not working. Oh well!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MrMoocher In reply to DawnMLC [2012-11-16 04:30:01 +0000 UTC]

Oh no! I'm glad that you didn't throw it out though. Sometimes stitching goes so slow that I want to just give it up haha. (I actually have not been stitching for that long.. it just feels like it! I guess I really like needlework though... I've tried many, many crafts and none have stuck except for crochet and cross stitching.) And don't worry about talking too much, I do that all the time and its really cool to hear from other members as I just started on DeviantART and sort of on stitching.

I'm stitching your Renji from Bleach pattern.. I started on one and I ran out of colors. (thank god for walmart, but it really doesn't have too much. I grabbed a few that were a number or two off, too. haha whoops!) I have 2 shades of red, black, and 2 or three shades of grey done. Anyways, what I'm trying to get at () is that I have done 3 more Renji's (this pattern makes me so happy. haha) in the colors I have (all in a row, evenly spaced and such) but this time without his zanpaktou and instead am going to have him holding chopsticks (if I can) and a little green bowl. I'm going to put some kind of quote (spaced over top and below the three if that makes sense), something like 'keep calm and mooch on' or something like that (I think its kind of cool but the whole 'keep calm' thing has been overused so much I'm trying to find more options) because I found the whole 'moocher' thing (especially later on in the anime when the kids go 'save yourself moocher!') really funny. (hence my 2-seconds 'holy crap i need a username what do i pick?!' username too xD). I'm also considering doing a border thats something like his bankai... I guess I'm sort of trying to emulate (is that the right word?) a sampler.

As you can tell, I'm WAY too excited about this. Unfortunately, as I have ran out of floss I have started another project. Until my mom can take me to the craft store, (as I beg her too just about every single day) I will have to be satisfied with saving patterns to my favorites and dream of working at (living in) a Joann fabrics. (where I get everything for free, of course.)

Oh, that stinks. Fingers crossed it gets back up soon, I love your patterns! Thanks for creating them!

Sorry for all the rambling.

Plus I dont think I want to spend another 3 1/2 some months stitching it again!

This is driving me nuts! How do you guys figure out the patterns for these?
I have so many ideas but no idea how to go about it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DawnMLC In reply to RightonShootingStar [2012-04-04 11:41:50 +0000 UTC]

Some use paint--gimp. I bought my cross stitch program--Hobbyware pattern maker- professional version. It is a costly program--but the best one out there. There are cheaper versions but I heard people have so many problems with them. Here is a free program- [link] I dont know too much about it tho. Just remember if you use any art from DA-- make sure you get permission to use it.

It only took me about 3 1/2 months to stitch. It was a pretty easy pattern except for the hands.
