Description
For a while we
amused ourselves with the
flowers we found growing in
abundance in the grass by the
creek.
     Homework forgotten, school a far away
     nightmare—azure sky stretched above us as we
lounged in the
     itchy green blades. Plucking petals from our poor
victims, lazily discussing anything that came to mind,
hair toyed with when a cool breeze meandered over us.
Eyes closed to refuse the
     blinding rays of the waning sun, voices soft in our
drowse.
     For a while we amused ourselves with
flowers, then took up our fallen bikes and
                                                       pedaled home.
