Description Honestly, I hadn't even heard of Xenoblade Chronicals before SM4SH - i'm a Shulk main so I decided to buy the game that he's from.

Best decision ever - because I found Reyn. He makes me laugh so much, he's wonderful.
(Also Xenoblade is amazing, I love RPGs and adventure so this is wonderful, aahh)

--But I haven't completed it yet (i'm at Eryth Sea) so no spoilers here please! <3

Reyn is such a good character...he doesn't deserve to have a fake fan like Chuggaa (hugs Reyn)

Reyn is the complete package of a best friend - loyal, funny, and open-minded. Not to mention; his catchphrases are awesome!

Ah Valak Mountain? Me too, I'm currently camping out at Ose Tower, although I take my time with it and nearly daily revisit the previous sites, usually for quests or to bring materials for the rebuilding of Colony 6.This game is really 100+ hours with every side-quest. So far which region is your favorite?

Same here, i'm going back through areas and doing my collectopidia at the minute for gems since I forgot about them for ages so I don't have many decent ones. I can't actually figure out how to start rebuilding Colony 6, I spoke to Otharon but I can't go past him since it says there's nothing to go in there for (I should probably go back and look into it better haha).

I agree! There's so much to do, it's wonderful! The last time I enjoyed a game this much was Dragon Quest 9 which I have 300+ hours on.

Hmm.. I really enjoy Bionis' Leg because of how big it is - I really love games where I can explore so it's hard to chose a favourite. I do really like Eryth Sea too though, it's so pretty. What about you? c: xx

Well to start rebuilding Colony 6 you can get hints from Juju. He tells you what you need to collect to help the rebuilding. And if you manage to rebuild every four aspects of Colony6 to lvl1, then you can have a quest from the Gem-Man which will make it easier to craft gems.

I'm still wandering around Valak Mountain and trying to discover the region and finish my quests both from here and from other regions as well as finishing the collectipedia and trying to find some fire ether crystal deposits to mine since I only have low leveled gems atm.

As for my favourite place (so far) would have to be a tossup between Satorl Marsh at night and Eryth Sea during a meteorshower. It's just sooooo awesome. I sometimes just stay there and stare at the scenery....at least until something tries to jump the party. But Valak is also gorgeous at night with those crystals. And the night sky is pretty everywhere no matter where you are.

Do you have any other favorite character outside of Reyn and Shulk?

Ohh I see, thanks, i'll give that a go next time i'm playing!

Yeah, pretty much the same here, I finished off at Valak Mountain and moved onto the next area but I keep getting wiped out (big groups of high levels, ouch) so i'll probably go back and do more training/exploring/collecting/etc, haha. I also need to earn more money and go back and buy manuals since I forgot to get a bunch of them.

Ah yes! It took me a while to get used to the crystals at Valak since I kept mistaking them for the yellow light that appears above chests dropped by monsters. Night time is so pretty though, as is sunset - the game in general is just so pretty, one of the visually pleasing games that i've played in terms of scenery.

Hmm well Reyn is definitely my favourite since he makes me laugh quite a bit! I liked Alvis when he was first introduced but i've gone off him a bit, he kinda seems shady/suspicious to me for some reason - but I always assume the worst, lol. I don't know really, Riki is really cute and Sharla is cool, haha c: Who's your favourite? xx

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kinga240 In reply to DawnRedd [2015-11-09 09:07:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Alvis acts really suspicious (especially with his conversations with Lorithia and later Zanza- huge hint there-)but you'll see, I' not going to spoil it for you, just know it will be a huge twist. First time I saw it I was like O.o. Anyway Alvis is definitely one of my favorites. I really loved his character in the High Entia Tomb - "You'll find we had to take the longer route because someone pushed a certain button."- I just about keeled over at that.

Anyway as far as good quotes go Reyn is definitely one of the best, though sometimes these quotes come out in an interesting way like when Reyn quotes to bring the pain and Shulk answers that he's ready. That was really funny but I'm sure they didn't intend it like that..still.

I really like the interactions between Reyn, Riki and Melia as well the conversations I heard yesterday between Sharla, Melia and Dunban - that was really funny although a bit mean towards Riki and Reyn.

So I don't really have any non-favorite character ( even the "side" characters are fantastic in my opinion- Kallian, Dickson (... we'll see...), all the Nopon are adorable, and the characters you don't know yet... ect.)

It's a good idea to change the party around to see how they interact with the others.

I just arrived at Sword Valley too but I'll go back to Valak today because I still have some quests to finish and areas to explore. May I suggest you too explore as many places as you can, it will help to level up, as will killing unique monsters.

Also try to lure one enemy away from the group you do not want to fight too many enemies at once ( even 2 if they are high enough level) or if they notice you, you can always run away or climb up somewhere to lose them (It's interesting that if you start climbing or cut off their direct sigh they stop chasing you.) It also depends on your own level, they may not attack all at once if you are high leveled enough. How high are you level-vise?

How is rebuilding Colony 6 going? Any progress? I always manage to sell the things I would need to upgrade the city... so I'm back to hunting.

huh... well sorry for the long reply but I really like this game I could probably still write about it a few more times like this. Anyway if you have question or need some help you're welcome to ask. I'll help if I can.

Sorry for the super late reply, i've been away for the weekend!

Oh wow! Yeah i've managed to avoid spoilers up until now which is a miracle, usually I end up bumping into spoilers so I try not to look online about things until i've completed, haha. Gosh the whole scene with Reyn pressing the button made me laugh so much, mainly because everyone else didn't let it go for the whole time they were in the tomb.

Haha I like exploring so that's something i'm definitely doing, plus I check the map quite often and if I notice a part that I haven't been yet then I try to get there to explore it - while I was exploring somewhere (it was either the Bionis' leg or knee) I came across some ruins that I hadn't been to before and I ended up getting a fright because a giant spider thing climbed up over the ledge and came towards me, wasn't very fun since I have an irrational fear of spiders lol

My team is level 45-46 at the minute, I like using Shulk/Reyn/Sharla for main story stuff, but if i'm exploring, doing quests or any of that then I switch between the others to raise affinity - plus its fun to hear their interactions haha.

I went and secured the bridge and reported to Juju so I can finally start rebuilding Colony 6, but I haven't played since then because I was away for the weekend - so i'll start tomorrow (i just got home, im too tired to concentrate haha).

No worries! I have to problem with long replies, it's fun having someone to talk to about things I like since my friends usually haven't played the same games that I have. c: xx

That was really a good scene, especially Riki's face as they are falling down, and it just gets better from then on. Shulk even manages to jinx them ( he, with the blade of destiny shouldn't say things like : "At least it's not attacking us."-and what happened?- that Orluga just about fell on their heads.

Yeah that is a mean surprise with the ... I don't recall the name right now but it's on a secluded place on the Leg. First time I went there I managed to escape it via the road down the side. And sadly it's not the only time they did this. I don't know if you did the quest in Satorl on top of the Exile Fortress...

I think it's a great idea to reward you exploring the world(... or should it be titan?). This is the first time I saw this in a game.

The time I did the Shulk/Reyn/Sharla combo they weren't that chatty so I'll have to put them together again to listen to their conversation.
Did you also notice that some characters affinity with another level up easier that with others. (I have been going as a Melia/Reyn/someone else combo for a while and they still don't like each other. On the other hand it was ridiculously easy to level up the affinity between hulk and Melia, not to mention that between Reyn and Shulk I already have a max affinity even though I'm roughly halfway through the game.)

I just got to Galahad Fortress yesterday but I'll have to turn back for a few quest that appeared in the other regions and to complete the collectopedia (and therefore level up again, seriously I'm overleveled as it is at lvl 53 where the enemies are around 45 and up in Sword Valley). May I suggest you complete the collectopedia for Sword Valley before going onwards? If I know right you won't be able to come back for a while, if at all once you finish up there.

I'm really thorn about charging forward with the game to see where it goes or taking my time to do (almost) everything first before continuing.

And yea, it's good to talk to someone about something you like, especially when I don't have friends here where I live, and even if they were here they would not care about this.

Haha yeah, i'm used to big monsters running at you with dramatic music playing though (Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 has a whole lots of that lmao) so i'm half prepared for it, now that I know Xenoblade does it too, i'll be even more prepared haha.

I agree! I mean, I love exploring anyways but getting rewarded for it is great, plus it encourages people to take a break from the story rather than rushing it all in one go, in a way.

Yeah I read that you won't be able to return to Sword Valley when I was reading about Colony 6, but someone else said they were able to get the item(s) they needed from there so i'm unsure about that, i'll probably go back and collect things just in case, though.

True! My 2 best friends haven't played but want to play, so I can loosely talk to them about it but very loosely since I don't want to spoil anything for them since they'll play it eventually hehe.

xxx

Yeah I was confused as well since there were visions that people needed items for Colony 6 from Sword Valley/Galahad Fortress.

How is your rebuilding going? I'm currently stuck because no matter how much I hunt I never manage to get the items I need... that and I'm currently off Bionis so I can't fast-travel.

It's good to know I'm already halfway through this Massive game, even though there are a lot of things I didn't do yet. I think you can guess where the game is going to play in the second half... :>
I'll be waiting to hear what will be you reactions for the end of the game. Is sure surprised me when I first saw it.

I'm guessing you've played before, then?

Rebuilding is going alright! I've managed to do level 1 of Housing, Commerce and Nature so atleast i've made a start, lol. I haven't been playing a lot recently (mainly because of being away and now being ill) but i'm determined to do more rebuilding before I continue with the story because knowing me i'll end up forgetting about it.

Yeah i'm really excited to see how the end is! I've been trying so hard to avoid spoilers - i've stumbled across some little details but they don't really make sense to me so i've forgotten most of them which i'm glad of. I'm the worst for spoiling things for myself before I get to finish it, haha.

Oh! By the way, will you be getting Xenoblade Chronicals X when it comes out? I've already preordered it, i'm so excited! I honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game as much as Xenoblade so i'm super hyped for the next one, though i'll surely miss these characters. (By the looks of it, there are more female party members in the next one, i've been enjoying the amount of males in this game haha) xxx

Nah, actually I stumbled on the game through YouTube. At the time I didn't own any gaming device so instead I watched Chuggaconroy's playthrough. After that I decided that I want to play it myself so I bought the game with a Nintendo (even though everybody in my family was glaring at me for spending my money on something so "useless", but this was the first time I really wanted something that I could actually buy so I bought it).

Then you only need level 1 Special to complete Colony 6 rebuilding level 1. If you talk to Juju he should give you hints on where to find the items you need. I'm not sure Juju already told you to start looking for residents in other settlements. You might want to talk to the named residents in every settlement again.

As for the ending, even though I know what will happen, playing it yourself makes it just as exciting (maybe a less bit of shocking) when seeing it first time. Although to be truthful I also forgotten or haven't watched a lot of "small" details, mainly side-quests.

As for the Xenoblade Chronicles X I have watched the introduction in Japanese on internet but it didn't really catch my interest, especially since this XC and the XCX have no relation to each other whatsoever. When I first heard of it I thought it will be a continuation of this game so I searched for it, but it isn't. At least the kept one Nopon in the party, no matter how strange it is to see a Nopon in the modern world. The scenery is beautiful though from what I have seen.

Ohh, I see! I didn't watch any videos or anything at all before buying XC, I just main shulk on Smash4 and have his amiibo so I wanted to play the game he's from and ended up buying it out of boredom, haha. I'm so glad I did buy it though, I pretty much only upgraded to the New 3DS just to play it, haha.

Woo! I should probably write down a list of what I need and where to find them so I don't need to keep going back and forth from Colony 6 - but then again I already have so many scraps of paper lying around with things to remember from games on, I should really buy a journal or something to stick them all into.

Oh, I see! I had watched the trailers for XCX before playing XC so I was already excited for it, i'm really into JRPGs and games with tonnes of adventure so I can't wait at all! I ended up watching some of a playthrough that skipped spoilers so i'm super pumped, i've already pre-orded the limited edition version of it because I can tell that i'm going to love it.
