Natural born alicorn (and who is a lot older than Celestia) Eclipsal Gem had made Hope from a unicorn to an alicorn, because it was to save Hope's life. Her mom had beaten her so badly that EG thought she was going to die, but EG did what first came to mind.
Now Eclipsal Gem wants to adopt Hope, both have braved their own storms, and because she feels like her mom now.
