Short story: Thanksgiving Dinner on Mobius

10 years later. . .

It was a warm morning as I got up, finishing the final preparations for Thanksgiving. The air was crisp and warm within our home, as silence still filled it. Honestly it's good to live in the countryside again.
The walls were painted white, wood floors, and simple furniture. There were 5 rooms, 3 baths, kitchen, living area, and a laundry room for this 2 story house.
Getting the turkey out of the oven, and ham as well, I set them down on top of the island that stood in the middle of the kitchen. Taking out other stuff, since everyone else was going to arrive at 4:30, and it was already noon. I soon heard footsteps coming down the stairway, and I turned to see him standing there,

"Good Morning sleepy head." I smiled
Silver walked over and gave me a quick kiss on my lips, "Good Morning to you too, babe. Did he get you up?" Silver asked as he pointed at my stomach
"No, I actually woke up on my own for once." I chuckled

Iwas due next month, so I was a total 8 months along, and I want it to be a surprise on the day. Silver touch my stomach as he go to the level of it,

"It's daddy." He whispered, "I can't wait to see what you look like. Wait what's that?" He said as pressed his ear against it, "Gasp! Do you want that?" He looked at me, "He says he wants cake."
I giggled, "Maybe later I can make it or something."
"Yes!"
Suddenly a voice shouted to us, "Mommy! Daddy!"

We looked and saw Pem sitting on Chris shoulders, followed by Maddie. Pem is our first born daughter, she looks like me except that her eyes are yellow like Silver's. She smiled wide, waving while holding on to him. Maddie was now 18 years old and a sophomore in college, she'd graduated from high school a year early. Her long blond hair had passed her waist, as she stood there in her blue pajamas.
Chris was 19 years old now, and was in the same grade as Maddie, since he'd graduated on time. Through his dark brown hair was normally short, it was being tugged on by Pem.

"There my little girl!" Silver said as he ESPed Pem off of Chris' head
"Daddy!" She yelled with excitement, "Are we gonna see grandma and grandpa?"
"All of them this year." Maddie told her, "Including mom's family."
"Really!?" She gasped with excitement
"I hope so, but for now let's get you washed up." I told her as Silver handed her over to me and everyone else was going getting ready.

*~*~*~*~*~* Later on *~*~*~*~*~*

Everyone who we knew and loved was sitting at the large table, in our backyard.
Dusk came with his son, Crimson the wolf, he sat near Pem. Night and his wife Mavis, showed up after Dusk with their sons Spector and Talus. Sam and his wife Coral, brought their boy and girl twins, Kaiholo and Aileen. Appointed King Shadow and Queen Rae of southern Mobius, sat with their kids, James and Scarlett. King Sonic and Queen Amy of Northern Mobius, sat with their children, Flash and Catherine Rose. Tails and His wife Cream, had came with their son Andrew. Surprisingly Sir Galahad and his son/soon to be apprentice Durwin, had came. King Scourge and Queen Rosie, their son Scourge Jr., and Vince with his wife Halo, their daughter Piper, had all used a portal ring to come. Silver's Parents, Kaze and Sapphire, sat near my parents, Ifritus and Lunus. Even my Uncle Grimly and Aunt Estrella, had made it. My brothers had showed up not to long ago, with their children. Deminion and his son Cerin, Arrow and his daughter Bevin, Inferno with his twin sons Jehoash and Kai, Icer and his twin daughters Hidayah and Hedia, finally Rockie and his son Seb.
Silver and I stood up as their talking had began to die down, I spoke up first,

"Thank you all for coming to our home this year. . . I know that it's been a while since we've seen one another. We've all faced everything, from good to evil, and many more. Yet we're still here, alive and well. I'm glad that we're all together again, honestly. Royalty, Knights, Demi-gods, alternates, and more. . . None different but the same. Now please join hands as our daughters Maddie and Pem, say a prayer."
Maddie and Pem stood as they took hands, and soon everyone else joined in, "Come, Lord Jesus, our guest to be and bless these gifts bestowed by Thee. And bless our loved ones everywhere, and keep them in Your loving care. For each new morning with its light, for rest and shelter of the night, for health and food, for love and friends, for everything Thy goodness sends. Amen"
"Amen." We all said
Silver spoke aloud as he raised his glass, "Now we can begin, cheers!"
"Cheers!"

We sat there, talking, eating, drinking, and laughing. Old friends that haven't seen each other in a long time. Now Dusk, Sam, and Rae had taken up their parents (Hades, Poseidon, and Athena) duties and even in the Greek gods council. Rae asked when I was due, and I told her that I will be soon.
The children, played further from the table. Pem, Crimson, Talus, Kaiholo and Aileen, Scarlett, Catherine Rose, Durwin, Andrew, and Scourge Jr were all 4 years old (born in different months). Though James, Spector, Flash, and Piper were a year older than them. Pem's cousins Cerin, Bevin, Jehoash, Kai, Hidayah, Hedia, and Seb were 2 or 3 years older than her.
Maddie and Chris stood by watching them for us, however soon they were conducted into the game of Hide n' Seek.
Luckily everyone was getting along fine, but however my sides began to hurt and I needed to go to bed. I told Silver, and quickly I left back inside the house. Rae followed close behind me, as we got into the kitchen. Pain is all I felt, gripping the counter tightly it suddenly broke off and I fell to the floor.

"Dawn!" She yelled and helped me get up from the floor
"He isn't going to wait any longer!" I yelled in rage
Quickly Rae put me down onto the couch and brought back my wheelchair, "Here you go." She told me as she put me on the chair.
"SILVER!!!!!!!!!" I screamed
He came around the corner quickly, "Now?!"
"Yeah now! I need to go, N-NOW!!"
"Rae, tell everyone to follow us." Silver said he took the wheel chair
"Alright!" She took off with out a moment to loose

Silver wheeled me out to the front and into the car. Pem, Maddie, and Chris jumped into the car as well, while everyone else got into theirs. He speed off quickly to the nearest hospital, my family flew over head watching out for anything. I yelled in anger and we got closer, it was just to painful. When we drove up to St. Cooper's Hospital, Silver put me into the wheelchair, told the kids something before going inside.
The doctor rushed over, asking me and Silver questions, but I couldn't hear anything.

'Mom please be safe.'
'Mommy.'
I saw Pem crying as she hugged Maddie, "I'll be fine." I said

Soon enough they took me into the operating room, and Silver stood in there before I blacked out.

------------- 7 hours later -------------

Maddie sat in the waiting room, with the rest of everyone else who came to the Thanksgiving dinner. Chris had his arm wrapped around her shoulder, and Pem was sleeping on her Lap. She checked the time, it was 10 passed 1 o'clock in the morning. Maddie could remember the first time when Dawn had taken her, and met her uncle. She could see Silver, Uncle Dusk, Uncle Sam, and everyone else talking to one another. The other kids were either sleeping or playing with one another.

"Is mommy going to be okay?" Pem whispered to her
Looking down Maddie smiled, "Yeah she always is so don't worry, okay? Just go back to sleep."
Suddenly the doctor had came out from the doors leading to the operating rooms, "Mr. Silver?"
He had walked over to him, "Yes that me. How's my wife? Our son?"
"I'm Dr. Carlson, your wife and son are safe and sound."
"Thank you so much!" Silver told him as he shook his hand
"Now if you'd like to see them, follow me."

Maddie picked up Pem, as she and Chris got up, and followed Silver close behind. Dr. Carlson took them all to her room and saw her holding onto. She smiled at them as she held the blue blanket.

"Hey guess who came to see you." Dawn whispered gently as she lifted the blue blanket from his head, "Say hello, to your new family."

Maddie saw the white small hedgehog with grey tipped spines. He looked like Silver, but he had a small little grey bang. Pem leaned in with sleepy eyes,

"Is that our new brother?"
"Yes, and now your a big sister too." Maddie told her

Everyone was got closer to the bed, smiling and awing. Silver sold close to me, as Maddie had sat Pem on the bed. Chris and Maddie now stood closer to Silver as I showed him to them, before I brought him closer,

"So what do you want to name him?" Silver asked
I paused for a moment, "How about Silver, Silver Jr. or 'SJ' for short."
"Ha, that settles it," Silver looked at everyone, "Everyone say hello to Silver Jr, the newest addition to our family!"
They all cheered.
SJ's eyes began to open and he looked up at me with eyes like mine, I whispered, "Welcome home SJ, I am so thankful that you came home safely." I hugged him
And he smiled up at me.
