Acrylic paint, watered down to be used like watercolor so it's not stiff it's surprisingly resilient. My husband's had two of the shirts I made him for about three years now, they still look great and I wash them just like everything else.

That's really neat! I would never think to use acrylic paint. Do you find that one brand of paint works better than another?

just not cheap ones the cheap ones tend to be less saturated in color so when you water them down they don't show up nearly as well, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in lasting capabilities.
