There has been a major clue that rose was pink throughout the series. Whenever the temple is shown from the outside the statue of rose quartz is wearing a mask of pink diamonds face pulled up on her forehead.

I just finished watching the episode, less than an hour ago and I'm still mind-blown about this revelation. I was completely convinced that Yellow Diamond shattered Pink Diamond, until I saw the episode, because of the way Yellow Diamond reacted to Defense Zircon's theory about how the official story about the events made no sense and that Rose Quartz couldn't have shattered Pink Diamond. Well, now we at least know why the official story makes no sense. Anyway, I can't wait to see how things transpire in the next episode.Β

Ok, truth be told, we have been theorizing about it for a long, long time... About Rose being Pink in some twisted way, then about Pink not being shattered (that one was pretty obvious), about Pearl being The Pink Pearl (since her building the spaceship, really), about Pearl being the one to defeat Pink, about assault on Pink being staged either by some other Diamond or herself... But Rebecca did excellent job making us doubt it all without any cheap tricks.
And now... all I can think of is "Oh, my God, poor Pearl..." - I mean, everything regarding her and her relationship with Rose gets just so, so much more messed up, doesn't it? Just thinking about all the things she got pushed through BY HER DIAMOND, no less, makes my head spin... Emotional abuse + abuse of power to the max!
