Description (note from Dayle14: I should mention that the novel the Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo is in the public domain as such I'm using it as the basic but I did use the physical appearances of some of the characters from the Disney film but correct me if I'm wrong)

As Esmeralda was being taken to her execution with her mother Paquette attempting to save her, Kasuto intervened and killed the guards and revealed who he was to the two after taking them to safety, Esmeralda explained what happened which drove Kasuto into a rage, he found Claude Frollo and punished him, turning him into a stone gargoyle which he then placed on Notre Dame, soon after he met Quasimodo, thinking he was here to avenge Frollo, he was about to kill him when Esmeralda explained he tried to save her.

Quasimodo then told him about Captain Phoebus de Chateaupers which angered Kasuto that he was going to let Esmeralda be killed for something she didn't do, Kasuto then told Quasimodo that he would be rewarded and told the three to stay in Notre Dame until he made sure Esmeralda was safe. He confronted Louis XI and warned him if he didn't leave his family alone then he would take his son's life as payment which Louis XI agreed to after Kasuto demonstrated his power. (However out of spite, Kasuto secretly cursed the king's family, an act which would eventually cause the end of the House of Valois)

For the next few weeks Kasuto would train Esmeralda on how to use her powers to help him punish Phoebus, when her training was complete, he found Phoebus and Fleur-de-Lys de Gondelaurier, abducted them and took them to Notre Dame, he then bound Phoebus and forced him to watch as he killed Fleur-de-Lys and used her lifeforce to restore Paquette to her former self then told Phoebus his punishment would be Quasimodo's reward, he then bound Quasimodo, apologizing beforehand and then with help from Esmeralda, cast a spell which swapped their minds, placing Quasimodo's mind in Phoebus' body and vice-versa, he then cursed Phoebus with immortality as well as ensuring what he did couldn't be reversed and bound him to Notre-Dame to serve in Quasimodo's place as the bell-ringer of Notre Dame, he then gave Quasimodo in Phoebus' body the name Mandel and the four left Phoebus to his permanent misery

They later found Pierre Gringore and secretly took Djali with them with Esmeralda leaving a note apologizing to him for being not a good wife to him, she would meet him one last time on his deathbed and stayed with him until he died.

Mandel and Esmeralda would later marry and the two would have a child that they named Pierre Clopin Guybertaut.

Esmeralda has the ability of Mana Manipulation and also uses Card Magic, she is also a skilled fortune teller and specializes in Cartomancy which revolves around using cards to gain insight into the past, current and possible future situations, she is also a graceful dancer and is a skilled tambourine player, she can also use her dancing and tambourine playing to cast spells, she uses a small dagger as a weapon.

Mandel has great physical strength and he can also use Armament Magic, which grants him the ability to use magic that revolves around weaponry and/or armour. He has the ability to summon, manipulate, and create both normal and enchanted equipment of warfare out of magical power. He mostly uses weapons what would have been commonly used during his original time period (Note from Dayle14: the novel takes place in 1482)

He also has the ability of Bell Manipulation and his favourite weapon to use is a giant bell which he uses as a bludgeoning weapon and he can generate massive sound waves by swinging it.

Esmeralda prefers to use her gypsy name rather than her real name, Agnes, she also answers to Esme

Esmeralda is the leader of the New Sarafan Order while Mandel is the Guild Master of the New Heroes Guild

Mandel's name comes from Mandel Bruce "Mandy" Patinkin who portrayed Quasimodo in the 1997 New Zealand fantasy television film The Hunchback

Update: changed their appearances to make them more faithful to the novel, in some pictures I found which depicts scenes from the novel Phoebus has brown hair, I gave him brown eyes as that's the most common eye colour for people with brown hair
