I finally went inside the Lorikeet exhibit to take pictures. I was always terrified that they might poop on me. They almost did. Anyway, I took a lot of great shots in there. I figured that this one would be great to start my collection.Birds and Bats gallery: [link]

Yay brave soul! I love hanging out with these birds. We had 6 babies this year and they're sooo amusing to watch dive bomb people because they can't fly straight. But they also bite, so I was there helping out some of the staff teaching them that biting fingers get them kicked off my arm.

One did begin attacking my camera when he figured out that wasn't going to feed him. I'm not paying a dollar for a cup of glorified sugar water!

Aww cute. Heh I fork out a few dollars here and there if the birds are active. It's worth is in the winter months because not too many people visit the zoo when it's cold. And the birds really don't mind it.
Aw cute. I've had some groom my head, steal my earrings, and try and eat my camera strap.
