Description Mira groaned as she slowly sat up, her mind blurry as she tried to make out her surroundings. She soon noticed Keon and slowly began to nudge him.

Mira: Keon. Keon, wake up!

The young boy’s eyes slowly fluttered open as he slowly sat up. He rubbed his eyes before beginning to look around.

Keon: *Yawn* …Mira? W-Where are we…?

She soon started to look around, noticing that they were in a sizeable square-shaped room. They weren’t alone, as she soon saw several people from the tournament were here as well. She soon noticed Goldman clutching his head as it seemed that they were all beginning to wake up as well.

Mira: You! How did you get here?

It took him a moment to stand up, careful not to put any weight on his broken ankle. He moaned and cursed through the whole process before finally responding.

Goldman: I… I don’t know. I was just about to head home when I got jumped from behind. Next thing I know, I’m here.

Mira: You too, huh? …

She then noticed the door to the room, which had the logo of Sparx Enterprises on it. This shocked her as she walked up to the door and placed her hand on the logo.

Mira: We’re in… A Sparx Enterprises facility…? But where?

Keon: M-Mira… I’m starting to get sc-scared…

Mira then placed a hand in the boy’s thick head of red hair, rubbing his head to try and ease him.

Mira: Don’t worry, buddy. We’ll get out of here somehow.

Suddenly, the door shot open before someone was thrown inside. As the door closed, Mira was shocked when she realized the identity of their new fellow prisoner.

Mira: D-Dad?!

She kneeled to pick him up and hold him. Aside from a few wrinkles in his black suit, he did not seem to be harmed. His eyes slowly began to flutter open, revealing a pair of blue irises that eventually locked with her green

Alexander: Ugh… M-Mira…? Is that you, sweetheart…?

She responded by hugging him tightly, sighing in relief before he managed to sit up on his own

Mira: What happened? Where the heck are we?

Alexander: Hm… All I can remember is… Something grabbed me from behind. I could only get a small glance, but… It looked like some kind of monster. Next thing I know, I’m here. Now, where “here” is… Hm… It looks like the underground lab.

He then noticed the number of people that were also in the room, surprised to see so many in the same predicament.

Alexander: What in the world…? What is going on here?

???: I can answer that.

Suddenly, Mira turned to see Javier approaching, much to her disdain. Despite his previous advances towards her, his face seemed completely serious this time around.

Alexander: And who might you be?

Javier: My name’s Javier. Those creatures that grabbed you, they belong to Nergal.

Alexander: Nergal?!

Javier: Those creatures… Along with Nergal… They are demons.

This sent a wave of shock through the faces of the other four. Goldman soon shook his head in disbelief, pointing at Javier in a confrontational manner.

Goldman: There’s no way. Demons are just a bunch of religious stories. And even if they were real, how the hell would you know about them anyway?

Javier: Because a friend and I have had to deal with them quite a bit in the past. Those creatures are scavengers, looking for powerful individuals. They then bring them to Nergal, who then drains them of their life force to replenish his power.

Mira: So I guess everyone in here is going to be part of his next meal then?

Javier: Right. Unless we get out of here, we’re all as good as dead.

Alexander shook his head, resting a hand on his forehead as he let out a sigh.

Alexander: Damn… Kashmir. He told me that Nergal was merely a corporate shareholder. I was unaware that he’s genuinely some kind of monster.

Javier: That’s another thing. You are the CEO of this company, correct? Did you have any idea of what that scientist has been doing down here?

Alexander: Not much… This lab is usually used by the biomechanics and weapons divisions. I did not know the full extent of their research. Now I guess my neglectfulness is going to cost us our lives…

Goldman: Screw that! I’ve got a wife and kid to get home to, so there’s no way in hell I’m getting eaten by a freaking demon!

The wrestler then charged at the door, throwing himself against it repeatedly in an effort to force it open. This would be a fruitless endeavor, as he would merely wear himself out while the door did not give an inch.

Goldman: Whew… Damn… That is one tough door…

Alexander: These rooms are usually designed to hold biomechanical experiments, so the doors are typically operated via security panel on the outside.

Mira: In other words, we have to wait until someone that knows the password comes.

Alexander: Most likely, unless you were somehow able to reach it from in here.

This statement caused Mira to think for a moment before snapping her fingers, her face lighting up as she turned to Keon.

Mira: I’ve got an idea! Keon, I hope you keep your sword sharp!

Keon: Y-Y-Yeah, why?

Mira: Dad, do you remember which side of the door the security panel is on?

Alexander: About six inches to the left of the door on the outside. Why?

Mira: Just watch.

She stood in front of the door and soon traced her finger until it was six inches to her right. She then tightened her gloves, which caused a few sparks of electricity to crackle before she punched at the spot. With each blow she unloaded, the metallic wall began to dent slightly. She kept this up until the spot was pushed in about a solid six inches, wiping the sweat off her brow as she admired her work

Mira: Whew… There, that should be enough. Keon, cut through that dent in the wall.

Keon: R-Right!

He stuck the tip of the sword through the damaged metal, moving it around until he cut a large circle, removing part of the wall. Inside the newly formed hole, a box-like shape could be seen. Mira easily lifted the back to reveal an intricate set of wires.

Mira: Alright, stand back.

She then stuck her hand into the wires, discharging electricity from her hand before yanking a few wires out. This caused the panel to malfunction and open the door. Alexander looked on in awe as his daughter had essentially given them an opportunity to escape.

Alexander: My goodness, Mira! You did it! How did you do it?

Mira: Guess all my training paid off in the end after all! Stay here while we look around.

Mira and Keon stepped outside into an empty corridor that seemed to stretch out as far as the eye could see on either side. They cautiously began to walk down the hallway and soon came around a corner. Suddenly, they could hear footsteps, as if someone was running towards them, prompting them to hide just around the corner.

Mira: Someone’s coming. Get ready to fight.

Keon: R-R-Right!

The footsteps got closer. Soon, a figure began to come around the corner, prompting Mira to throw a quick punch, which connected with the figure's face. The blow sent the figure to the floor, his hands covering the spot where he was hit. As they moved in to get a better look, Mira was surprised when she realized who the figure was

Damion: Y-Yeouch!!!

Mira: Damion?!

She helped him up and took a look at his face, a red fist mark visible on his right cheek. Once he was on his feet, he finally realized who had hit him.

Damion: Ow… Yeah, nice to see you too.

Mira: How did you find this place?

Damion: I had some help!

He soon noticed Javier, Alexander, and Goldman all approach, careful as not to attract any potential security.

Javier: Tell me, this help you had. It was Apollo, wasn’t it?

Damion: Yeah. He’s looking for you, actually.

Javier: Say no more. I appreciate it.

Javier then ran off into the corridor in search of his companion. Damion then turned to Mira and Keon, his face finally showing a hint of relief.

Damion: I’m glad you both are safe! You two really had me worried for a little while.

Mira: Did you win the tournament?

Damion: Ah, me and Apollo were going at each other really hard until that Nergal guy showed up! Speaking of which…

His expression became serious as he turned back to where he came from

Damion: You guys should get out of here. I heard that this Nergal guy is pretty strong.

Mira: And what, let you fight him alone? No way! We just found each other, I’m not about to separate again! Besides, we need you to help us get all of the other people out of here!

Damion: Other people?

Alexander: Yes, mostly participants from the tournament. From what that Javier fellow said, Nergal plans to devour the fighters’ life force.

Mira: So we need to get everyone out of here as soon as we can!

Damion: … Alright. I think the elevator I came on can only hold a few people at a time, so get everyone together and let’s get them out of here.
