Welcome to Manzanar, BLDG 3.This is a continuation of the series I took of the Manzanar Japanese-American Internment Camp where thousands of JA's were forcibly imprisoned during the war, by their own country.
Please read the other posts in this series (Manzanar Concentration Camp, Shikataganai, and Welcome to Nowhere) if you have a moment to spare, I think it will give more meaning to the photos if you have an idea of the history behind it...

I've read the whole thing you wrote about this matter. I admit I didn't know anything about those concentration camps for Asian people, never heard about them at all, no one ever told me anything about them. I couldn't even imagine there could have been such racism against Asian people. Well I should have, since racism seems to be inside our DNA...
I've sent you a note with my thougts about this matter. You did a good job, it's been worth and very interesting reading it.

Capturing the atmosphere and mood of the subject through a lense; takes the reader/viewer back to the time when imprisonment was the essence of this place.. this is how photojournalims should be :thubmsup:

strangely "manzara" means scenery in turkish .. and thought that this deviation belongs to a turk then i realize that it is manzanar

This is a breath-taking photo. The colours are wonderful. They really make me feel that there was much sadness there. I also like how much depth (distance?) there is. I always love your photographs ^_^

for my idea of photojournalism it looks allready too manipulated. i mean if i was to categorize it, it would be manipulation allready... since it is so viesible.

This transcended the screen. Illuminating my whole room and my mind.
What a wonderful photograph and moment you have captured. The tones are so intense and the subject is so monolithtic and the broad nature of the perspective and smaller elements of the composition really crumble together to create a truly moving work.
