Description
Another sudden inspiration. Continuing to push the boundaries of how well you know my characters, here is Retsubnad actually having a tender moment with one of the few people in his life whom he actually genuinely cares for besides Danbuster!
His pet gryphon, Thoronraw.

Of everyone he knows, Thor'n is one creature with whom Retsy feels a common bond.
As previously stated in Thor'n's first pic , Retsy found the gryphon at a travelling freak-show, caged and mistreated, and subsequently rescued him. It was as a result of this that Thor'n gave his loyalty to the wizard hare.
Retsubnad himself felt ill-used by a world that had judged him for looking sinister, so had a common grounding on which to relate to Thoronraw - therefore, for one time in his life, he found a fellow creature with whom he could build a genuine sympathetic friendship.
Unlike Retsy, Thor'n is still optimistic about life... his story being one chapter behind Retsy's, his spirit was not so crushed that he became bitter like his Master.

(That's not to say that Retsy himself is beyond redemption - his "sibling rivalry" relationship with Danbuster is a lifesaving influence in the same way that Thoronraw provides a daily support)

Drawn entirely by hand, I decided to try colouring this in pencil, seeing as how my Pending folder is already loaded with stuff I'm planning to colour digitally!
Subsequently inked with a liquid-ink rollerball pen, to enhance the fading pencil outlines.

And considering the success of this pic, it may be worth looking back over those Pending drawings to see which ones will be feasible to attempt hand-colouring...
