Description
After learning how to do cut gems in a way that I like, I wanted to try and apply it to something more complicated. I thought 'hey, wouldn't this be a cool idea? Doing a Gem, but they're skin is the gem part???'. That idea devolved into a very complicated piece. Seriously, I did everything differently than my normal style. The line art is different, the hair is different. I have never spent so much time rendering out hair. I think it turned out really well though. I'm especially proud of how her nose turned out. I think it's better than the last time I tried to go for a more painterly style-it was a Lapis Lazuli who looked...ok. The only thing I'm not super happy about are her clothes; if anyone happens to know a good tutorial about rendering out clothes, link it to me!
