Here's another tribute I made, this is a tribute to the American actress and writer Carrie Fisher. Fisher was best known for playing the role of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars films "A New Hope" (1977), "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Return of the Jedi" (1983). She later reprised the role in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (2015), "The Last Jedi" (2017) - which was posthumously released and was dedicated to her, and appeared in "The Rise of Skywalker" (2019) through the use of unreleased footage from The Force Awakens. Aside from the Star Wars franchise, her other film credits include "Shampoo" (1975), "The Blues Brothers" (1980), "Under the Rainbow" (1981), "Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986), "The 'Burbs" (1989), "When Harry Met Sally..." (1989), "Postcards from the Edge" (1990) - based on her novel, "Soapdish" (1991), "Drop Dead Fred" (1991) and "The Women" (2008). Fisher also had several television roles such as providing the vocie of Angela on Family Guy from 2005-2017, and having several guest appearances on shows such as the NBC sitcom 30 Rock and the Channel 4 series Catastrophe, where She was nominated twice for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for both series in 2007 and 2017 respectivly. Fisher also wrote several semi-autobiographical novels, including "Postcards from the Edge" as well as an autobiographical one-woman play and the non-fiction book, "Wishful Drinking", which is based on the play. Fisher wrote the screenplay for the film version of "Postcards from the Edge" which earned her a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and her one-woman stage show of "Wishful Drinking" received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Fisher also worked as a script doctor for other writers' scripts, including tightening the scripts for "Hook" (1991), "Sister Act" (1992), "The Wedding Singer" (1998), and many of the films from the Star Wars franchise, among others. She was the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds and she and her mother appeared in "Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds", a documentary about their relationship, which premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. After her death, Fisher was posthumously made a Disney Legend in 2017 and was awarded a posthumous Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album the following year and in 2023, she posthumously received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
