I always thought Scooby-Doo would make a great present-day dark/action/comedy movie in the same style as "Deadpool".
I even have the trailer in my head... In a dark theater
*Fade up on close up of an obvious bad guy, terrified, breathing heavily, sweating and crouched down in the corner of a dingy room, he's hiding from something.... uncomfortable silence and extreme close-ups of drips of sweat, a nervous twitching eye, we hear snarling and suddenly we see a huge great dane smash through a wall and its gaping jaws swallow the camera.
*CUT TO BLACK
Announcer: This summer, forget everything you remember about Scooby-Doo...
*Action scene with fast paced music and a bunch of catch phrases and clever one-liners
Announcer: A group of misfits
*Clever quips between various characters
