Since I'm not too concerned about mistakes here, they will not be covered. Critiques will be discouraged. However, if you have any suggestions, like a special move, a weapon upgrade, something to add to personality, A scene involving this character, anything that would benefit me and the character, I'm more than willing to hear it out.

He lived most of his life in the isolationist Artemis Kingdom. After many years of not knowing the real truth about the world around him, he seeks for a way out of this island kingdom. He goes to the castle’s library to look for a book on boats. He can only find stories about them and no How To books (they’re isolationist, you think the king wants his people to know how to escape?). With these stories, he slowly learns about the ins and out of boats and with that knowledge he secretly teackes himself about how to make boats. For three months he starts building a boat from scratch. With the help of his Fairies (more on them later), he successfully completes the boat. However, his friend Sukia wants to join him, and the boat was only built for one person. Reluctantly, Dev lets Sukia into the boat but under an agreement to switch who sleeps on the bed everyday while they’re at sea.

Devangie discovered the Fairies in a standalone tree at a cliff in Artemis Kingdom when he was 10 years old. The Fairies were afraid of him at first, but Dev convinced them that he was of no threat to them. When one of the Fairies, Valentine, attempts to speak with him, Dev can’t understand what she said. The reason is that Fairies are so small that their voices are low and they speak faster than humans. This is called Fairyspeak. For a while, the fairies used gestures to communicate to Dev. After half a year, Dev slowly taught himself Fairyspeak (to understand them, not to speak it. The fairies speak the human language, just very fast). Every week Dev would sneak into the castle’s kitchen early in the morning to smuggle food out and to the tree. The food would last them a week.

In battle, Devangie would switch between the Phoenix Sword, the Helix Rapier and the Hermes Whip. As you can see, if he wishes to use all three at once, he will have the whip around his neck and swing his whole upper body to use it. The Helix Sword is very large, but is actually lightweight since all of Dev’s weapons are just physical forms of Fairy Magic. The Phoenix Sword is small, but versatile.

Artist Interesting Notes: I got that name Devangie after I mispronounced one of the randomly generated named in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. One of the names was Devange. I’m now certain that it is actually pronounced de-VAHNGE instead of de-VAN-gee. However, the name grew on me, and I spelled according to how I pronounced it.
