Description Hey here's a surprise; it's an actual drawing from me, it's been a while. And it looks like I've dropped Drago into yet another universe, This time that of DC Super Hero Girls.

Anyway I was watching through the webisodes of DC Super Hero Girls again recently and when I watched the episode "Frost's Bite" this image popped into my mind. For the story behind this... Frost has ice powers, but she needs heat to recharge herself. Drago has plasma powers, or just plain fire if you don't want to get fancy about it, and can produce a lot of heat. Even when he's not actively using his powers Drago's body temperature is quite a bit above average. So Drago can basically be a walking talking recharger for Frost, and possibly a humanoid heat blanket for others if it's a cold day.

In other news I no longer have access to a working scanner as it seems the one I had been using has apparently degraded enough that I can no longer get even a decent looking scan out of it. So I snapped a picture of this drawing with my phone, cropped it a bit once I had it on the comp and posting it in the hopes it looks okay.

Hey man it's nice to see you drawing again!Β  And in Superhero Girls as well!Β  Awesome!Β  I friggin love that series!Β  I think Drago would do quite well in Superhero High actually.Β  I mean the DID let Catwoman in after all and he can be more behaved then her!Β  Plus, like you said, he can help Frost warm up every now and then.

Sorry to hear about the scanner though.Β  One step forward, two steps back, huh?

Thanks ^_^ I'm going to do my best to draw more this year so hopefully it won't be as long before my next pic.

Yeah Super Hero Girls is a good series and fun to watch, they've done some interesting stuff despite only having a few minutes per episode to work with. The characters are great all around too, especially the ones that are normally villains in other continuities ^_^

As I was drawing this I was thinking about how Drago could fit into this universe and end up in Super Hero High, here's what I came up with...
It starts with a familiar tale with Drago's mother Tasha Amour, she was on an outing with her family when multicolored meteor fell from the sky and slammed down in their midst. After some recovery time in the hospital they discovered that the energies from that space rock had given them strange powers, it would be much much later that they would find out that colored rock was actually composed of various types of kryptonite. Anyway while the rest of her family wanted to use their new powers to become heroes, or perhaps get some fame and fortune putting on a show, Tasha decided that wasn't for her. No, she was going to use her power purely for herself and maybe have some fun in the process. She became a globe trotting super-powered mercenary and villain, becoming quite infamous over the years.
Tasha eventually had a son whom she named Drago, a child that was born with the powers she had been granted in that meteor strike. Having a child didn't slow Tasha down at all and she continued on with her villainous mercenary ways, training Drago between jobs and even keeping him somewhere close by when on a job so that she could pick him up quick when the job was done. Drago took to the training quickly much to his mother's delight and his powers developed at a rapid rate and would potentially surpass hers, presumably because he was born with them and were developing in a more natural way.
Luck had been with Tasha for a long time and while she had a few close calls she had never been caught during her long career, but one day her luck finally ran out. Tasha was surrounded by various heroes with no avenue for escape, cornered with no way out Tasha decided on a different plan. Tasha told the heroes that she'd surrender willingly and without fuss if they'd let her son off free and have him cleared of any possible charges against him; while Drago wasn't with her on this particular job he had accompanied her on others. The heroes agreed to Tasha's terms, though at the time they didn't know where Drago was so they couldn't have gotten him then anyway, and Tasha was taken into custody.
As Tasha was being processed to be sent to a detention facility she received a visit from Amanda Waller, who had heard about Tasha's request upon being caught. Waller told Tasha she could help get Drago quickly cleared of all charges but had an additional proposal for Tasha; if Tasha was agreeable to the idea Waller told her she'd like to enroll Drago in Super Hero High, Waller knew how skilled and powerful Drago was and thought not only would he make an excellent addition to the school but would also thrive there. After giving it some thought Tasha figured that maybe that would be the best thing; with her in jail putting Drago into a hero school would probably be the best way to keep him out of trouble and still be able to use his skills and powers to their fullest. Waller helped Tasha get in touch with Drago and told him to come to where she was and gave him the location; when he arrived Tasha explained the situation to Drago, who Waller was and just what she had decided was going to happen now. Drago was less than pleased with the situation, especially the part about his mother being put in prison, but if that is what Tasha had decided he'd go along with it if that's what she wanted. Pleased that Drago was willingly going along with her decision and knowing that Waller would make sure he was taken care of Tasha bid her son farewell and told him to be good then allowed herself to be taken away.
Now Drago finds himself on a new path in life as he's enrolled in Super Hero High to learn how to be a hero and "be good" as his mother asked of him.

And yeah, sucks to not have a working scanner anymore, but at least I can still snap a decent pic of my drawings to post.

You know about the series coming up on CN, right?Β  It'll probably be the new standard of two 11 minute eps but given what they've done with just four or five minutes I can't wait to see what they do with double that time.Β  And it'll be produced by Lauren Faust!Β  Just kind of a shame it's gonna reboot things. Understandable but still sad.Β

Sounds like a really good backstory for this version of Drago.Β  Hopefully he can keep up his word on "being good" and makes a few friends at Super Hero High.

Well here's hoping you can get a new one here soon man.

Yeah I've heard about that. While it's shame they'll lose the stories, current character development and everything from the current version with a reboot I think it'll be in good hands with Lauren Faust

Thanks ^_^ Drago will certainly do his best to be good; though at first he'll probably fall into the 'Good is not Nice/Soft' categories, especially when dealing with villains. I could see him really giving quite a beating to the first villain he fights, probably should be someone durable like Croc or Grundy so they don't end up in too bad of shape afterwards, much to the shock of some of the other students. He'd have to learn to dial down it down "We send the bad guys to prison, not the hospital." But I think he'd do pretty well otherwise.

I think he could make a few friends, or manage to get along with some of the other students at least.
-Frost certainly, he wouldn't be letting her glom onto him for heat if they didn't get along.
-I think he'd get along with Lady Shiva and Katana over a shared love of martial arts, and Drago would probably find Katana's art and fashion stuff pretty cool too.
-Most likely get along with Barda too over a shared enjoyment of smashing things and not so heroic pasts.
-Harley Quinn and Beast Boy definitely, Drago seems to attract those types no matter what universe he's in.
-Bumblebee, she seems to be able to to get along with everybody and would probably be actively trying to befriend Drago to help him adjust to the school.
-There's probably be a bit of a weird relationship between Miss Martian and Drago. As he would purposely startle her occasionally; but not to be mean, he'd just find her "Eep!" adorable.
-Despite Drago's powers basically originating from that kryptonite meteor that fell on his mom and her family, and being able to emit Green-K radiation when actively using his powers, I think him and Supergirl would actually get along for the most part, though she'd keep a respectful distance in most situations just to be safe.
-Being a leader of the students and a diplomatic person in general I think Wonder Woman would do her best to be welcoming, although Waller inevitably calling Drago a "One of a kind catch for Super Hero High" might make her a bit jealous at first like it did with Supergirl.
-Batgirl would probably be a bit leery of Drago because she's probably heard all sorts of stuff about his mom through her dad's work since she was wanted fugitive and Gordon probably had access to her files.
-Ivy would be leery of him too, but that'd be because he's a fire type and that does not mix well with her plants.
-I don't think Hawkgirl would like Drago much, due to his criminal past she'd probably peg him as a rule breaker and be making that "I got my eye on you" gesture if she thinks he's causing trouble.
-Star Sapphire does not like Drago. I had a random idea that not too long before his mother turned herself in Drago and Tasha stole something from Carol's family, she was home at the time but could not stop them from stealing whatever and getting away afterwards. When she first sees him in Super Hero High he reaction is not pretty to say the least, poor Janitor Rudy had a lot of property damage to clean up that day, but after a talking to from Principle Waller she just glares at him whenever he's around.
And that's a good chunk of the characters, I know there's plenty more but I don't have anything definite for them yet.

Sounds about right on how he's get along with all of them.Β  Would definitely be fun to see some of these scenarios play out in some way.Β Β

Also now I'm wonder how, or if, the Kryptomites would effect him.Β

Actually I was thinking since Drago's body actually generates kryptonite energy as part of his powers kryptonite radiation from other sources would have no effect on him. I could see him actually able to absorb it, but he might not even be aware of the ability since the rarity of actual kryptonite makes it kinda hard to test and practice such an power. Who knows, If he's able to absorb enough kryptonite energy at once it might even give him a temporary power up.

As for the Kryptomites; I figure if he could actually get a hold of one he could drain the kryptonite energy right out of it to the point it'd just crumble into harmless dust, but he could only do it by touch and wouldn't be able to dust them at a distance. Although he might be able to absorb the energy they're sending out to a limited extent, potentially making the immediate area around him safe to be in.
That red Kryptomite wouldn't have affected him, not directly anyway. However he most likely would have been too busy dealing with other students to help out Starfire, particularly Star Sapphire who probably would have been right after him again once she fell under the influence.

Well now the question becomes just how MUCH of that radiation can he absorb?Β  Cause I can't imagine having too much in him at once would be a good thing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Deaku In reply to Blackbird2 [2017-12-31 05:42:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, there always an upper limit to such absorption abilities, especially when it comes to nasty stuff like radiation. Not sure just how much Drago can hold or just what happens if he gets too much, he's not particularly eager to test that out.

Yeah probably not.Β  Have to expel that rather quickly I'd say.Β Β

Deaku In reply to Blackbird2 [2017-12-31 06:02:53 +0000 UTC]

And that would be a bit harder these days now that he's trying to " be good" and stick to the heroic path. If he's not careful in how he expels that energy it could result in a lot of collateral damage in property and people, how much damage depends on just how much energy he can hold before he has to expel it.

Indeed.Β  Definitely doesn't want to do that around SupergirlΒ

Deaku In reply to Blackbird2 [2017-12-31 06:35:24 +0000 UTC]

Certainly not, though if she's in good enough shape to fly at that point, or one of the other strong fliers is, she could get clear easily enough.
Actually he could possibly use his absorption ability to save her too. Like if some villain had some sort of kryptonite beam weapon and was aiming for Supergirl Drago could leap in and block the shot, so long as it was purely/mostly kryptonite energy it'd probably would hurt like hell but he could absorb it. Or create a safe zone for her if he's absorbing k-radiation from the immediate area, course if he has to do that continuously for a length of time it'd probably soon be pushing his limits on just how much he can take in.

Sounds like that could make for a good story.
