Description My Vampire character I made for D&D champagne Curse of Strahd. Wrote a hole dang background for him, Spent way to much time on it.

Virgil Smith is a Half-Elf turned Vampire. His father, El'hazel was an Elf druid and Mother, Vanya was a Human Ranger. They worked together Protecting the forest's life and keeping it clear of monsters that would endanger the forest and the local townspeople of Mirfield. The two fell in love, bearing three children. The oldest Hector, the second son Virgil, and the youngest being the daughter Gertrude. Hector is three years older than Virgil, and Virgil being five years older than Gertrude. They all inherited their mother's last name Smith in the hope a human last name would help them (being Half-Elves) fit in human society. Virgil and Hector always wanted to be adventures since they were kids. As they grew, Hector was trained to be a ranger by his Mother whall Virgil spent most of his time wondering the streets learning the trade of the rouge, feeling that every dungeon diving team of adventures needed one and that would be the role he would take.

In the year that Virgil turned 23, people within the village started to die of an unknown cause. The local Druid and Ranger (Virgil's parents) couldn't figure out what It was but had a very deep suspicion of what it could be, hoping desperately for it to be anything but that. The Druid El'hazel left to find a cleric, so they may shed further light. But they were all too late to save Virgil who was found dead in the streets leaving his mother Vanya heartbroken beyond repair. He was buried underground in a coven like the rest of the victims. When El'hazel returned with the cleric Father Borden they examined the new bodies that have turned up. With Father's skills in examining they discovered how the bodies were largely lacking in blood. He then checked the neck for bite marks, a key sign of a vampire's presence and sure enough, they found them. El'hazel checking on his family learned of the death of his second son Virgil. In fear he, Vanya, and Hector dug up his grave to find no coffin and no Virgil. They now know that Virgil had turned into an undead creature of the night. A fate that was hard for them to bear or even accept as true.

Virgil had turned into a Vampire's spawn, under complete control of the vampire that turned hem. Virgil meets his master who explained who he was and the role he will serve. In life he was Dominic but in death, he was Dominarco, a vampire lord. His Vampiric bloodline was weaker than other vampires but allowed him to grow incredibly powerful as he aged, a power that would make other vampires envy him. For as long as Virgil was Dominarco's spawn he would retain his supernatural strength, dexterity, and constitution. For why would Dominarco give such special interest in hem, Virgil wondered. He explained that his greatest threats in (redacted) are his family and that he was the perfect weapon against them. Dominarco then ordered Virgil to kill his family. Virgil knocked upon his family's door. Opening the was Gertrude once seeing Virgil skin turned pail in fear. Virgil using his vampiric charm, he asked: "May I come in". Gertrude being powerless under his spell could not decline. Inviting him in with open arms. Upon entering he embraced his sister, sinking his fangs into his younger sisters neck. With a thud, Gertrude dropped to the ground drained pale of blood leading to Vanya rushing into the room. She froze with terror, The vision of Virgil's undead form standing over her poor daughter's corpse was more than her braking mind could handle. Virgil walked over to her mother, drawing his dagger stabbed her in the chest. Coughing blood, she fell to the floor dying.

El'hazel, Hector, and Father Borden cornered Dominarco within a cave not to far from town. Getting to hem was hard with his vampire spawn guarding hem. With El'hazel wounded and Father Borden and his fellow three clerics that came to insist him being all out of healing magic, he decides to head to town to get reinforcement. Returning home to rest found the front door open with his daughter laying on the ground inside. He ran in to find his daughter and wife dead. Feeling a tap on his shoulder turns around seeing Virgil's twisted eyes staring into his. Charmed, Virgil wiped the tears from his eyes stating sincerely "There's no reason to cry, everything will be better now." With a swing of his arm, a dagger left logged in the side of El'hazel's neck, gushing blood all over.

Hector and Father Borden were finally able to corner and with holy magic slay Dominarco with the help of fellow clerics and town's guard. With Dominarco dead, Virgil was free of his influence. Looking down on his dead family members, he felt no grief, nor sorrow. For a Vampire has no emotions, only obsession with what he loved in life. Knowing Hector being only left in his family to kill, but with no longer any reason to do so, decides to leave. He regrouped with the other Vampiric spawn to figure out what happened to Dominarcos corpse, For a spawn must feed on a true vampire's blood to transform into a true vampire. With some intrigue, they discover his corpse was completely destroyed. This meant they had to achieve true Vampire the hard way, through training their body, they must evolve. The spawn all agreed to travel there own separate ways. Better for there survive to not throw all their eggs in one basket. Were one vampire can go unnoticed a pack will only attract an army. Something Dominarco failed to account for.

Virgil knew that there had to be more to this, so he hunted down his former master's coffin finding Several vials of unknown blood and a ring. Opening a vial turned out to be not of his masters but of other vampire lords. Some kind of trophy Dominarco kept. A spawn only needs to drink the blood of a true vampire, nothing said it had to be his masters, or at least he hoped. Popping open every vial he drank each on down. He left Mirfield with his coffin and the ring which turned out to be magic protecting a vampire from being destroyed in (but not immune to) running water. Hector knowing that it had to be Virgil who killed his family seek vengeance on the undead monster the uses Virgil's body as a host to sustain its evil existence.
