No, but... ach, no one seems to understand how a geocentric system works. Look, if the sun and moon both orbit the earth, and they're on opposite sides from each other, if you were on the moon, it would not be possible to see the sun! The earth would be in the way!

The earth orbits the sun, and the moon orbits the earth. The moon goes all the way around the earth in 28 days, and the lunar cycles indicate how much of the sun you would see from the moon, as the moon reflects the suns light for us to be able to see it (hence the moon going from being a full moon to being invisible to us). Also, an eclipse is when the moon is exactly between the sun and the earth, blocking out the sun from our view, so the earth can't be in the way all the time. If necessary, Luna will have to be enjoying the sun during an eclipse.

Ah, I see. Are you going for a Tychonian model? I was interpreting it purely geocentric, based on the opening storybook where Luna and Celestia are going around the Earth, in which case the moon would not have phases. But there are shots where the moon is in different phases, so...

Ah, well in that case, I am going for a Tychonian model then, yes. I am also not sure which model Equestria works by yet, and this idea would not leave my head until I drew it.
