OK, i didn't make that background pattern, its a piece of scrapbooking paper. My teahcer advise di do this to that image of gypsy i painted ages ago. So i bought a patterned piece of papr and a craft knife and painstakingly cut out gypsy and then stuck her on the paper. It took me a while to find the right paper to suit the image, but i really like how it works. Its a sort of modern twist. My teacher had suggested an asian pattern paper, like those really intricate gold print ones... but ide have to go to cabbramatta to get some o that and there aint NO way i'm goin there, cause its basically a foreign country, i need a passport or something >.<
Anyway, this paper suits her better. Not too overpoweringly detailed, but far from plain, and the colour scheme offsets nicely, and even better, the pattern was called Harlequin... and the character is Gypsy... so its kinda carnival related and well... ima make it my new desktop image
