There’s a lot of things I like about Gaster and the lore surrounding him, but one of the small details I appreciate is that Toby incorporated a mysterious, cryptic language into his universe to be deciphered by the more dedicated fans… by using Wingdings, and having it be totally justified in context, by maintaining the theme of skeletons speaking in derided fonts.
It also makes it easy for fan work to use this language and make their own cryptic messages for other fans to translate. It’s definitely one of the things that’s helped create an open medium for more involved interaction among the fanbase, and I personally think that’s really neat.
