The dahlia I photoed on Sunday is now in bloom. So I brought it indoors tonight and played with the lighting again. Problem is I was wearing the wrong glasses and where I thought it was all in focus it actually wasn't. So out of 67 shots I've only been able to salvage a few. There's a lot of noise on them which I have tried to reduce.Some are still quite nice but not as technically perfect as I would like. I'm putting them up though because I like them

very nice lighting... the noise is probably being caused by such a high iso.
the more sensitive you make the ccd, the more noise it's going to get as the ccd heats up.
what are u using for lighting?

Just a normal office spotlight as I wanted to use a close concentrated light. If you look at my Sunday dahlia the colours are totally different and yet it's the same flower. The background was white cloth and it has come out blue and we used a smaller spot light. It's amazing how the same flower can look so different just according to light.

Do you remember you were the first one I asked for advice as I wanted to know how to silhouette my two tulips? I was blown away by your flower photography and really think that's what you should get back to and start to make your money on that again. Your talent for that luv was and hopefully still is outstanding.
I never dreamed back then, that one day I would be doing photography like this, and once I remember to put the right glasses on and how to use my camera properly, I'll be up there with all you big boys
