Description This is my maternal ancestral home nearly 200 years old..the view from the terrace is lovely..it looks onto the nearby pond with ducks in it and has a large number of coconut trees around it.

I took these pics sometime in September last year when I went to my Mom's native place in rural west bengal about 15 kms from Calcutta. Thought of sharing them with you all here

Taken with the VGA cam on my Nokia 6085

yes it is
my mother's side is Kayasta in caste..we have partly donated the house to the neighbouring Brahmin family who take care of the house when we arent there and also perform the religious rites in the ancestral mandir[temple]. We host a Spring festival during Holi[thats the festival of colors] and the entire village is invited ! Sometimes villagers from other villages come to attend^^

yes i am a Hindu by birth but i do not steadfastly believe in any one religion. i have had a couple of fights with my Mom for this but..lols i have always prayed kneeled down with hands folded ..maybe bcoz i have been indoctrinated into this style by my Methodish Christian School and i love singing hyms..i am also interested in Islam[i try reading up on it wenever i can] bcoz the maids who worked at our place used to be Muslim and i used to hear their folk-tales quite a lot
Im Brahmin[the highest and intellectual/read is ancient verses etc caste] bcoz my dad is and my Mom is kayasta by birth[the warrior class literally, the 2nd highest in the order] n Brahmin now thru marriage

very confusing eh?

Wow, quite confusing, but most fascinating! One of my good friends is a Hindu as well.
I am a Christian myself, and am hoping to become a missionary and feel that the Lord might be having me go to India as a missionary.
