Description

This is another picture which started out with a particular concept in mind and only made it half way there, before going blissfully astray. I may make another attempt at a later date.

Based, of course, on Mozart's QotN from The Magic Flute, wherein she's commanded her daughter to slay Sarastro, or be forever banished from her life.

For those interested in seeing that particular bit of the opera, my personal recommendation would be to look up Diane Damrau's dynamic performance on Youtube. (Diane Damrau also happens to be one of my favorite sopranos, next to Carmen Monarcha. ) It is a real tour de force that lends intensity and drama, and partially inspired above picture.
