They’re finally here!
its a bit of a hard transition to the third panel but I wanted to draw those first two ^v^ '

“H-how did we end up like this...” Angel stammered, half laughing at the absurdity of their situation. Two loyal Homeworld gems deserting their home and running off into space for the sake of love, the idea was foreign.
“The real question is what we’re going to do now that we’re out here.” Den released his tight grip of her and dried his tears with his free hand. “We can’t go back, now we’d be criminals or at least deserters...oh god...” He suddenly realized the seriousness of their situation, “We can’t ever go back... your- your status, y- your staff, what will they do to your Quartzes... your Agates...” He could only imagine the worst. Tears filled his eyes.
“Hey, don’t worry about them, they... they’ll be fine.” She gave a sad smile as she raised her hand to his face, using her thumb to wipe away the fresh tears. He leaned his head back into her hand, letting his tears flow.
“Where can we go... Homeworld controls half the galaxy-”
“And it doesn’t control the other half, look on the bright side! And we won’t be lonely, I’ve heard stories of friendly rouges who we could find! I’m sure they’d be willing to travel or settle with us!” A long silence fell between the two. Den finally got up and turned away from her.
“That’s just an old Quartz’s tale, rouges are monstrous killers that entertain themselves with torturing lost gems...” He looked out the cockpit window, noticing a planet, but not just that, a ship as well. A ship big enough to hold an entire army.
“A rebel ship...” He just barely whispered it under his breath. Angel stood up to stand beside him. They stared in awe.
